We had our weigh-in today. The results weren't what I hoped, but I haven't done much to yield better ones. Scotty and Star both stayed the same, which is better than gaining. But Casey gained a half pound.
Casey's gain shouldn't come as a surprise, after all, he is the master of sneaking extra food. Although there hasn't been any instances in the past three weeks of him getting extra treats. So I've had to examine other reasons why he gained while the other two remained the same.
I came up with something that may have contributed to his weight gain. We have an older cat and while he eats he drops kibbles of dry food out of his mouth. Some of them roll off the table he eats on and onto the floor. And guess who is quick to pick up those pieces? Casey!
As soon as Casey hears the cat eating, he instantly perks up and waits. Now it isn't like a whole lot of food falls off the table for him to eat, but I don't think the ones that do are helping my cause.

Hi Amy, thanks for dropping by My Blog! Now it's my turn :)
ReplyDeleteI had the same task with Khandi! She was rather heavy and it took me at least 9 months to get her to the ideal weight - it was hard and I felt so guilty but it was for Khandi's own benefit! She now maintains a good weight! It was all down to me giving her the wrong amount of Kibble a day as she didn't get a lot of treating. Now during the week the Kibble is her treat (unless we are at training) and at the weekend she gets a nice treat - Ellie is the same. Good Luck and keep it up! BTW they are all gorgeous!
Hi Priscilla,
